In-House Business Analyst

BusinessPort are recruiting a Business Analyst to support the continued development of their Business Management System “Agility” and other internal systems initiatives

This key role in the organisation will require a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst who can work well within a busy development team and deliver as required with minimal supervision.

Typical duties include (but not limited to):

  • Engaging with key stakeholders within the business and our clients to gather and analyse their requirements for the business management system (and other internal initiatives as required)
  • Run workshops as required to elicit requirements
  • Develop and maintain Functional Specifications for the required solution
  • Work with developers to clarify and elaborate on requirements as development progresses
  • Work alongside Test Analyst to ensure product is bug free and the functionality is as required
  • Compose Release Notes for each update of the product
  • Create and maintain Training Material and deliver training to clients
  • Update Help Guides in line with changes to functionality
  • Assist Product & Support Manager to prioritise the development roadmap of the product
  • Input to the Client Portal as source of requirements gathering and prioritisation from our Clients

Essential skills/experience:

  • Requirements gathering, business and systems analysis and solution definition
  • Creating and maintaining functional specifications, wire diagrams and story boards
  • Communication at all levels – including clients, technical and non-technical personnel
  • Functional software testing
  • Creating and maintaining Training Material and delivering Training to clients
  • Understanding of full software development lifecycle and/or software development background
  • Understanding of Product Management/Software Product Management
  • Ability to work within a team or on their own

Desirable skills/experience:

  • Knowledge of requirements gathering and analysis methodologies such as UML
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodology
  • Project Management experience

BusinessPort Ltd is seeking to expand our established team of experienced Business Consultants to deliver on the capability of the AGILITY Business Management System to optimise the opportunity for client business improvement.

Skills and experienced required:

  • Programme management of/or experience of pan-business improvement programmes.
  • Educated to MBA or MSc level or equivalent management experience (logistics supply chain, operations, procurement and/or QHSE management).
  • Experience in the application and exploitation of proven business improvement methodologies.
  • Strong, relevant change management experience.
  • Able to operate autonomously or support/lead a programme team.
  • Articulate and good at building stakeholder relationships – able to act as a facilitator and influencer at all levels within BusinessPort and client organisations.
  • Able to deliver of pragmatic business and process improvement activity which maximise benefits and achieve the desired business outcomes.
  • Skilled at business case development in support of business improvement projects.
  • Able to assess and design new frameworks to support Continuous Improvement within client operations.
  • Manage interdependencies across projects/programmes and leverage synergies across projects/programmes to maximise return on investment.
  • Adept at providing specialist, objective and analytical insight on all business improvement design and analysis related activity on change projects.
  • Capacity to manage priorities, multi- task and flawlessly execute at speed within challenging ad dynamic businesses.
  • Experience of Statutory Compliance and its impact on business processes, systems and documentation.
  • Willing to deploy on UK-wide and overseas projects.
